What is Breast Revision Surgery

At GIRIN, we do not only recreate a natural and beautiful breast but also cure the mind of the patient by a professional and safe surgery.

Some of the patients who have already undergone breast surgery have unsatisfactory results with unexpected outcomes such as unnatural shape, asymmetry, implants being visible, unsatisfactory size and contracture.

To prevent further re-operations, it is important to accurately diagnose the current condition of the breasts and analyze the causes of the previous surgery's failure. Skilled and experienced surgeons should perform breast revision.

Breast surgery revision is recommended if:

  • You are not satisfied with the size and shape of your breasts after the previous surgery

  • Your implants are damaged or have deformed

  • Your implants are visible or tangible

  • Your breasts have become stiff due to capsular contracture

  • You have asymmetrical breasts after the previous surgery

  • There is inflammation caused by the previous surgery

  • You want to solve the problems above by experts with more than 15 years of experience under an accurate analysis system through high-tech devices with minimal incision, scarring and pain

Tip 2. If the implant ruptures or changes shape, the surgery may be performed earlier.

Types of Breast Revision Surgery

Case 1. Capsular Contracture

Capsular contracture occurs when internal scar tissue forms a tight capsule around a breast implant, thus breasts can be deformed and pain and discomfort may be caused. Capsular contracture can be the result of excess bleeding, infection.

Surgery Method

During breast revision surgery caused by capsular contracture, the the scar tissue is removed and the implant is replaced with a new one or repositioned.

Case 2. Asymmetrical breasts

Breast asymmetry can occur due to dislocation of the implant, incorrect implant positioning, or capsular contracture.

Depending on the cause of the breast asymmetry, surgical methods may include resolving capsular contracture, correcting the implant location, using a different type of implant, fat grafting, or breast ptosis correction.

Case 3. Ruptured Implant

Breast implants may rupture, causing the silicone or saline inside to leak out. In this case, the damaged implant needs to be removed and replaced with a new one.

Case 4. Unsatisfied with the size and shape

Occasionally, patients may remain unsatisfied with the shape or size of their breasts due to unnatural shape or change in desired size.
