What is Double Eyelid Surgery?

There are three types of double eyelid surgery: non-incisional, incisional, and partial incisional.

The surgery method is chosen considering the following factors :

i) the thickness of the skin

ii) the thickness of the muscle

iii) the volume of hypodermic fat

Partial Incision Double Eyelid Surgery

Partial Incision Double Eyelid Surgery combines the advantages of the non-incisional and incisional methods.

A small incision of only ~3mm is made on the eyelid to remove excess fat, while the crease on the rest of the eyelid is formed using the non-incisional method.

There are several advantages of the partial incision method. The scar is minimal and unnoticeable, and swelling is also minimal, allowing for a quicker return to normal activities. Overall, this method provides a natural-looking, yet clear and distinct eye shape. The double eyelid fold created with this method usually lasts longer than the non-incisional method, especially in patients with puffy eyelids.

Partial Incision double eyelid surgery is recommended if:

  • You want to remove fat around the eyelids with minimum scarring and swelling

  • You want to have clearly defined and natural double eyelids
